My bike has an obnoxious creak the mechanic says is the the sound of the internal cable slapping the frame tube. I call bullshit since it is not evident when I pull back hard on the handle bars while riding. Time for a new mechanic.

I hadn't seen the add before the video - I'm usually in thr get over it camp, but that add was actually gross. It was over done, it was poor, it was written by 15yo. I feel like if it was done with any amount of subtly it would have caused much less of a stink

Weird? Why? For certain rides, it's a great idea. Maybe it's weird because this very good idea never occurred to Jimmy because he is limited in the type of riding he's done. For a guy on a major cycling RUclips channel, I continue to be amazed by the stuff he doesn't seem to know. Cycling clothing should be comfortable, aerodymic, utilitarian for the type of ride (and climate), and ideally durable. That's it. Any design elements beyond that are just a nice add-on. And to any non-cyclist, ALL of it is weird.

I’m not sure that someone attacking a bike with an angle grinder would go un-noticed?

I would put stabilisers on it and paint in pink.

No everyone has the money for expensive electronic gear shifting. I bought a front mech bike new as there was a 25% discount for "bad paint" and when it arrived, the bike shop guy said "there's nothing wrong with the paint". Result !

But theirs were of baselayer which could hold bladder. ... if you want to cool your watter in bladder practical solution is puting an ice gel pack between bladder and your back. This way you get fresh water and a cooling for couple of hours

Swytch is okay until your motor doesn’t work anymore. That my problem right now. You just can’t buy a 20 inch motor wheel. You have to purchase all the other accessories with it again. And their customer service sucks. Customer Beware.

I love everything Chris Miller...the show, Jesse Coyle (I think that's how it's spelled) and his aesthetic for all things cycling. But that bike....yuck...I would have wrapped that thing asap or painted it. Looks like a booger! I simply figured he got that bike for free or was given to him by a local shop as a color they just couldn't sell and wanted to get rid of. lol.

I've got a straight corncob 11-speed cassette on my road bike and shift frequently to maintain cadence. I hate te feel of 2 and 3 gear skips and would be screwed without a front mech.

I've narrowed it down to endurance bikes - should I consider steel frame? My budget will allow for top end aluminum frames and some steel frames. I just can't make sense of all the information swirling around out there. I have scheduled a pre-purchase fitting at a place that seems to do thorough fittings.

Children: they are called clipless because before there was only toe CLIPS and straps. Once these pedals arrived, you didn't need the clips. (Or the straps.) Their name has nothing to do with being clipped in or not. The first SPDs appeared at Aviemore MTB world cup in 1988. A little before your time.
